2017 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: Women Building Peace
This is a very good theme for this year International women’s day, of a truth we can only giver what we have. Hence the women are up to the task of building peace in our world today because they do consider the consequences of their statement actions before reacting to issues, unlike we the men.
However, I am not dwelling much on the theme directly, but to angrily speak against one of the things that could hinder any woman not to measure up to the task of building peace. When someone is robbed of his/her belonging there is no how others can benefit from such parted possessions, and this is why many women could not build peace because their peace has been charted
STOP THE ABUSE, BLAME YOUR GENE:
How can you be educated yet remain uninformed, cruel, and primitive with a parochial purview?
Why on earth should a man beat up his wife because she gave birth to another female child? OH! Because she carries the pregnancy so you thought she determines the sex of your child, right? Before you murder that innocent woman, get some brain.
I am not a biologist, but I attend biology class like you back in high school where we were taught about GENETICS; Biology used to be one of my favourite subjects, and I enjoyed every topic under it. Thanks to those classless, energetic trained teachers of Ojodu Grammar School in Lagos State who discharged their duties with professionalism and great passion for developing others.
When it comes to determining the gender of a child, the gene or genetics of the parents are responsible for this. Gene or genetics is from the word “Genesis” which can be referred in relation to the origin. Gene(s) or genetics is a unit of heredity, a segment of DNA or RNA that is transmitted from one generation to the next, this carries information or trait from the progenitors and manifesting them in their descendants. In a nutshell, it is the biological way by which living beings tend to repeat their characteristics (physical and genetics qualities) in their descendants, ̶̶ hereditary.
A chromosome is a structure in the body cell nucleus that contains DNA, DNA is a substance in a living being which determines their form, and can be used to uniquely identify a person. The chromosomes come in X-shape and are 23 paired which every human has 46 haploid chromosomes. Chromosomes in humans can be divided into two types: autosomes (body chromosome(s)) and (sex chromosome(s)). Certain genetic traits are linked to a person's sex and are passed on through the sex chromosomes. The autosomes contain the rest of the genetic hereditary information. All act in the same way during cell division.
The Gene in your body determines the sex of your baby
The X chromosomes represent feminine gender while the Y chromosomes represent masculine gender, the female (women) chromosome contain 2 X, i.e. the 23 paired chromosomes of a woman are Xs (XX) while men have an X and Y chromosomes paired, (XY).
Now that the X chromosome results to a female child and the Y chromosomes result to a male child when mixed with the woman’s egg, (XX) (XY), it is worth noting that a woman has no business to what determines the sex of her child. The surviving chromosome from the man’s semen fertilized the woman’s egg, and this determines the sex of a child based on the chromosome donated.
If the semen that fertilized the egg is carrying X chromosome, then the child sex will be female, but if it carries Y chromosome, then the child sex will be male. Hence, the woman has no role whatsoever to play in this business of producing a male child since by nature she has no Y chromosome which is responsible for making a male child. Whatever the man donates will dominate and is the determinant factor.
Therefore, if anyone would raise questions of why they keep having a particular gender of children, it should be the wife, because she is just a carrier of what was deposited in her, and helps to birth it which the man could not do. She needs to be apologies to if she has been accused falsely due to your ignorance. I hope this meet someone well and helps them get understanding.
