HURRAY! DEATH FLEE OJODU BERGER

Over a decade ago, users of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway have being clamoring for a pedestrian bridge at Ojodu Berger Bus Stop to check accidents, congestion and robberies. Realistically, such a bridge would reduce risks associated with use of the highway.

Although, majority users of this road are residents and workers from both Lagos and Ogun satates; but it remains one of the major Federal roads in the country. The Federal Government has being called upon to construct a pedestrian bridge on this road to reduce loss of lives of its users but nothing was done.

All thanks to His Excellency, Governor Akinwumi Abode of Lagos State, who is passionate about safeguarding the lives of his people and not concerned about whose road it is and whose duty is to construct the bridge, for this has being one of the reasons state governments has turned deaf ears to the cry of their residents on some matters.

Immediately Governor Abode took the baton of leadership of Lagos state in May 2015, he assured Lagosians that his administration will provide solutions to traffic snarls in the state, and in June same year 2015, he approved the present ongoing construction of pedestrian bridge at Ojodu Berger Bus Stop (Berger Oke, as popularly called.)

On Monday 18th of July, 2016, some numbers of the road users cheerfully make use of the bridge while returning from their various place of work. It is obvious that the road users were tired of the nemesis that befall them previously on this road as they could not wait for the bridge to be roofed as the traditions of Lagos State pedestrian bridges. While the motorists optimistically

Now the people of Ojodu, Berger, Omole, Olowora, Isheri, Magodo, Alagbole, Akute, Lambe etc. join others to chant His Excellency’s slogan, Itesiwaju ilu Eko, l’jewa logun!
